When I raise my hands to supplicate Allaah The Almighty, I feel as if there are two huge hands beneath them to the extent that I lose sensation in my hands or I feel as if I can hardly see them. Furthermore, I feel that my lips and body contract. This feeling is more intense when I supplicate after performing the obligatory prayer or the voluntary night prayer, and I feel as if I am touching these huge hands but I do not actually feel their touch. This only happens to me when I am supplicating Allaah The Almighty. Please advise.
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu 'alyhi wa sallam, is His slave and Messenger.
We ask Allaah The Almighty to grant us all steadfastness in faith. There is no explanation from the Sharee‘ah about the state you are in when you are supplicating. However, we advise you to be sincere in supplicating to Allaah The Almighty along with being fully attentive and conscious that Allaah The Almighty is watching you. We also advise you not to get carried away with these obsessive doubts and illusions that are induced by Satan to ruin a man’s worship. Rather, one is required to sincerely worship Allaah The Almighty and to act according to the Sunnah of the Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam.
