Question
AsalamoAlikum Warahmatullah Dear Brothers/Sisters, In my community there are some people who give special importance to the 'First Thursday' of every 'New Islamic Month'. The locals usually call it 'Nauchandi(new moon) Jumerat(Thursday)'. The people believe that giving charity or doing good deeds on first thursday will bring greater benifits e.g. the month would most likely proceed better. They basically believe such a thing in order to have a better month ahead(avoidance of difficulties, good business etc). My Questions are: Is there any significance of the 'first thursday of every new Islamic Month' that can be derived from authentic Islamic sources? Is it true that thursdays in general have special level among days since many people prefer giving charity in the way of Allah on thursday? What should I do if I am offered food by someone who signifies the first thursday but gives that charity in the way of Allah? what Should I do on normal thursdays when people are giving charity in the way of Allah saying that 'today is jumerat(thursday)' implying thursday is a special day for charity. I request Islamweb to not to refer me to anwer to similar question May Allah reward you all

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His Slave and Messenger.
We have previously mentioned the merit of Thursday in Fatwa 135437. But we do not know of any particular merit concerning the first Thursday of the lunar month.
However, there is no blame in doing some acts of worship on any Thursday of the month, since the Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, used to fast on Thursday, and he mentioned that on Thursday the deeds (of people) are raised to Allaah, and that Allaah forgives everyone on it except for two persons who have had a fight and are not speaking to each other; so he (the Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) liked to have his deeds raised while fasting.
