Question
What is the ruling on a person who frequently visited sorcerers but then repented?
Answer
All perfect praise be to Allaah, the Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His Slave and Messenger.
Anyone who has practiced sorcery, fortune telling or magic or followed and trusted those who do must stop this act, regret the conduct and resolve not to do it again in the future, thereby repenting to Allaah the Almighty. Once these requirements of repentance are met, then it is hoped that Allaah the Almighty will accept it, for Allaah the Almighty Says (what means): {Do they not know that it is Allaah who accepts repentance from His servants and receives charities and that it is Allaah who is the Accepting of repentance, the Merciful?} [Quran 9:104]
