Fatwa CenterWashing Impurity on a Carpet
Question
Assalamu Allaikum plz reply we got a najazah on the carpet and i dont remember on which spot was it on it however we washed the carpet but im confused if we should wash it only one time is this sufficient or should we wash it thrice plz reply
Answer
All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad 
is His slave and Messenger.
If you have washed the entire carpet until you predominantly think that the impurity is most likely removed, then this is sufficient.
The footnote of ar-Rawdh al-Murbi’ reads:
“In removing impurity, it is sufficient to predominantly think that it is removed; a group of scholars authoritatively stated this, because there is hardship in considering certainty here, and it is exempted Islamically.”
We warn you against whispers, for it is a widespread evil. Rather, they should be ignored and not paid attention to, as this is a beneficial treatment for them.
