Fatwa CenterNeeds a Quranic solution to enhance her memory
Question
I lack concentration and interests have a weak memory. Please tell me any Quranic solution to enhance both of them so that I can be successful enough to serve the cause of Islam one day. I wear Niqaab and my failure will surely add to the perception that Muslim girls are dumb. Please help me.
Answer
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger. We ask Allaah to exalt his mention as well as that of his family and all his companions.
Indeed there are many reasons for lack of concentration and interest, and for having a weak memory. The ways of treating this are subsequently different.
Firstly, the reason could be a physical disease which leads to the above conditions. In order to treat this, one has to consult specialised doctors.
Secondly, this could be because the heart is preoccupied with other matters. The treatment for this is to neglect these matters as they are the ones that are preventing you from being able to concentrate and analyse the data.
Thirdly, the reason could be because of sins and acts of disobedience. This indeed causes a lack of concern in the heart. The treatment for this is to fear Allaah and repent from sins.
Fourthly, it could be that you are possessed by a devil; the treatment is to mention Allaah as much as possible, recite the Quran, and perform Ruqyah, please refer to Fatwa: 83660 in this regard.
Fifthly, the reason could be the lack of motivation and ambition. Indeed a Muslim should always be a person of great motivation doing his best in all his affairs. The treatment for this is to feel responsible and accountable, and how far your religion and nation have the right on you. In addition to this, you have to keep company with righteous women who were blessed with great motivation and ambition as one is always greatly affected by his friends and his company and he imitates them.
