Question
Assalamu alaikum wa rahmat Allahu wa barakatu. I was just searching for a place to put my questions and concerns into, and my friend suggested I use this website. So, inshAllah it will help me with the question im about to ask. I've been experiencing weird things lately, and I was wondering if you would help me out. It was just two days ago, when i was fast asleep, having a dream. I can't remember much of it though. All i remember of it is that i was standing on the top of a hill in a village i didn't recognize, and my brother(who is not married) was calling me to go on and live with him in that village where his wife was. And in the middle of my dream. I wasn't sure if it was apart of my dream or if I had awoken, i felt as if someone was choking me. Trying to open my eyes, and grasp a breath of air. Then finally I did. Thats when i thought that maybe im being possesed by jinn. Because I have seen things that were most likely done by jinn. For example once i walked into my kitchen, and found my nefews toys on the ground. It was a remote control car. The ones where u need the control to control it. The conrol of the car was right next to the car. And the car was moving all around the kitchen. and another time i was sitting in my living room, and i saw a shadow walk right in front of me. It looked like a body. but no one was in the house but me. I'm not sure if this was all my imagination some how. but it scares me. I do not know if it was because i forgot to read my prayers before i slept that night. InshAllah everything goes okay. And i hope you reply to my concern. Thank you for your time. Answer
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad 
is His slave and Messenger.
The dream which you saw does not necessarily mean that you are possessed by jinn; it could be just whispers. Even if we presume that what you felt was from the devil, this does not mean that you are possessed.
This also applies to the moving of the toy and the movement of the shadow; we mean that this does not necessarily mean that it is due to the devils, because fear makes a person sometimes imagine things which are not really true.
In any case, if you are pretty sure that you are possessed by jinn or that your home is haunted, then you should seek Ruqyah, recite the legislated mention of Allaah (in the mornings and evenings) and recite the Quran at home, especially chapter Al-Baqarah (the second chapter of the Quran).
